A great source for anyone seeking information on lighting - 'Let There Be Light' The video begins with a historical review of the origins of cinema lighting. Next - some background on the physics of light and color - and how these facts relate to the choices we make as cinematographers and photographers. The video concludes with a montage of modern lighting instruments and then a quick summation. - Mark Vargo, ASC
In this ever-changing industry, it's important to educate new filmmakers the power and importance of lighting, even at the digital age. We'd like to thank, Mark for creating these educational videos!

Updated blog (5:19 PM) Karl Walter Lindenlaub ASC/BVK demonstrates lighting on stage for Day and Night.
Updated blog (2:09 PM) Now Mark Sawicki on the floor demonstrating the cinematography considerations for two stop motion commercials including Green screen setup and exposure, creating synthetic shadows, front light back light and crowd replication.
Updated blog (10:44 AM) Now Gabriel is starting to talk about lighting; cutting and shaping as needed.
Masters POV has officially started. We've just concluded the introduction to the event, and now given the floor to Mr. Gabriel Beristain ASC, BSC.
He is currently talking about film testing, and the important role of the cinematographer. He still wants to share to the world great story-telling and illumination, more importantly, the values or mastering the craft.
