William F. White, one of our most valued clients! We're honored to be supplying the largest provider of professional motion picture, television, digital media and theatrical production equipment in Canada.

In the last couple of years, CINEMILLS has been working closely with the White's on their customized branded HMI and Tungsten units. We replaced many of their older units to new ones. They've also started to stock up on our latest fixtures, SUFA BULLETS - high powered LED.

Getting Lit in the Island of Puerto Rico

Even the big guns, "Silver Bullet," came out to play!

Weighing only 73 lbs. and drawing only 7.3A at 110V, the Sufa Bullet™, with a patented silver optical system, is one of the most powerful LED fixtures on the market. Comparable output to a 4K HMI fresnel the Sufa Bullet requires no ballast, and no HMI globe. The Sufa Bullet has a lifespan of 50,000 hrs. (77° F) which equates to a cost savings of approximately $130K in HMI globe replacement. The name Sufa Bullet is in reference to the of Speed and Strength of the SUFA (STORM) F-16 fighter jets, and the American tradition of performance excellence. The LED SUFA BULLET the new generation of the HMI SILVER BULLET.



An HMI lamp uses mercury vapor mixed with metal halides in a quartz-glass envelope, with two tungsten electrodes of medium arc separation. Unlike traditional lighting units using incandescent light bulbs, HMIs need electrical ballasts, which are separated from the head via a header cable, to limit current and supply the proper voltage. The lamp operates by creating an electrical arc between two electrodes within the bulb that excites the pressurized mercury vapor and metal halides, and provides very high light output with greater efficacy than incandescent lighting units. The efficiency advantage is near four fold, with approximately 85–108 lumens per watt of electricity. Unlike tungsten-halogen lamps where the halide gas is used to regenerate the filament and keep the evaporated tungsten from darkening, the mercury vapor and the metal halides in HMI lamps are what emit the light. The high CRI and color temperature are due to the specific lamp chemistries.
